GROM WATCH - HENRY TURNER

Henry has been with us since the beginning, literally one of our first ever customers! If you're a regular visitor, you will have seen him tearing up the bowl. It's crazy to see the progress he's made over the last 5 years, and we couldn't be more proud.

From the moment he learned to drop in, there's been no stopping Henry. He's earned podium spots at National Comps and proudly represented the UK at the World Rookie Tour Finals. Keep up the shredding, and don't lose that cheeky grin! 🤘

Henry Thomas Turner - AKA Skateboard Bob

When I was a baby, my older sister decided to call me Bob, inspired by the Jungle Junction character Bobby. My parents then started calling me Henry Bob, and eventually just Bob. Even now, my parents still call me Bob, which always gets a chuckle from people when they hear them shout me in a skatepark.

Why Skateboarding?

My dad took me to Graystone not long after it first opened to see if I liked it. From the very first time I stepped on the board, I was hooked. Skateboarding helps me switch off my busy brain, providing confidence and determination to never give up, crucial when learning a new trick. It has also given me a tonne of bruises!

Favourite crisps?

Kettle Chips Ready Salted because I love trying new flavours... not.

Favourite trick?

Kick Flip. I know people might think it's boring, but I just love doing them. One memorable experience was trying to kickflip down a bank at South Bank, which ended up in me fracturing my foot. However, I went back 12 months later, overcame the fear, and landed the trick.

One trick to get dialled?

Backside Judo Air on a Vert. I love Judos and getting big air, so I want to combine the two. I'll watch videos, ask experienced skaters for advice, and then work, work, work until I can land it.

Action Sports Idol?

Klay Kreiner, his big airs and style are super sick.

Graystone Idol?

Adam Kay, not one specific trick, but I admire his style and pure love for skating and life.

You’re stuck in Graystone, which 3 things would you keep with you?

Bed, Skateboard (obvs), and drift RC car.

Tell us a secret we don’t know…

I play football too. I'm a part of my local team on weekends - Glossop North End U13s.

What are your goals for the future?

To be able to skate at Woodward. When I'm older, my goal is to skate and earn money so I can travel to America, Japan, and around the world.
